Our Level 2 ‘Dars e Nizami' course is a three-year, part-time educational programme curated specifically to equip seekers with the requisite skills and attributes required for advanced Islamic studies and Islamic scholarship.
Carefully assimilated by renowned subject experts - rooted in classical, Islamic academic rigour - this 3-year course is the second stage of our Dar al-Ma'arif, part time Alimiyyah initiative delivered by our Faculty of Islamic Studies.
Building upon our revolutionary ‘Dars e Nizami’ syllabus, students will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Arabic language and classical Islamic sciences, as they are exposed to advanced level texts in a variety of disciplines.

Who is This Course For
This course is ideal for more advanced students that require a flexible and relevant part-time Alimiyyah programme: allowing the study of classical Islamic Studies, whilst developing critical thinking and a deep understanding of the primary sources of Islam.
Admissions Requirements
Admission for all Essential Islam courses are administered by our course facilitation team. Applications must be submitted through our online portal: simply click the 'enrol now' button and fill out the application form.
Students must have passed our Dars e Nizami Level 1 courses (or demonstrate an equivalent skillset).
Each applicant may also be assessed on an individual basis through their application, a reference, a personal statement, and an interview.
Attendance is mandatory and monitored. Students risk being withdrawn from the programme for a lack of commitment (see our terms and conditions for more details).
Cohorts and Deadlines
The programme is offered once per year. The next cohort starts in September 2023.
Early Admission Deadline: 1st August 2023.
We encourage applications to be submitted before the early deadline, as we anticipate a high volume of applications for this course.
The aim of this course is to produce future scholars and leaders who will serve the Muslim community with excellence and sincerity.
Curriculum
The ‘Dars e Nizami Level 2' is an on-going part-time programme, delivered and structured over three years. Each teaching year is split into 40 weeks, with 4 hours of live teaching a week.
Core specialisations are focused on furthering knowledge and understanding of Islamic law and theology, whilst also immersing students into the fields of advanced Arabic language, all whilst preparing them for more advanced studies and Islamic scholarship.
This is a Blended Learning course which is taught in-person in the classroom, as well as streamed live weekly with classes led by academic instructors, and supported by distance learning on-demand resources, personal 1-2-1 academic tutor assistance, and a dedicated student liaison team.

Through this course, students will develop a wide range of skills, underpinned by knowledge of traditional Islamic sciences.

Master Classes From Qualified Teachers
Shaykh Mufti Wajid Iqbal descends from a noble family of scholars. Most notably, his mother’s uncle was the honourable Shaykh Mufti Abdul Hakim, the Grand Mufti of Kashmir.
Under traditional tutelage, Shaykh Mufti Wajid has completed all aspects of the highly revered ‘Dars-i-Nizami’ curriculum; remarkably never missing a class of sacred knowledge over a 11 year period, which culminated in being authorised in iftah at the age of 27.
As well as being the founder and head principal at Essential Islam, Shaykh Mufti Wajid is an Imam at the Jamiyat Tabligh-ul-Islam Victor Street Masjid, as well as a Friday prayer preacher at the Bradford Central Mosque. He has been teaching all aspects and levels of the Islamic sciences in Bradford and further afield for well over a decade, whilst also being a stand bearer for spirituality in the local and wider community.
Master Classes From Qualified Teachers
Ustadh Mohammed Wahid Akhtar spent 12 months in Syria, where he studied Arabic language at the University of Damascus Language Centre.
He has a Masters in Pharmacy from Liverpool John Moore’s University, and is presently studying oncopharmacology and pharmaceutics the University of Bradford.
Ustadh Wahid is currently studying the highly revered ‘Dars-i-Nizami’ curriculum with Shaykh Mufti Wajid Iqbal, whilst also studying with Syrian Ulema online.

Born and raised in the heart of Bradford, Shaykh Sohail Ahmed (LLB) is an ardent student of knowledge who embarked on his Islamic studies in 2007. A journey which reached its zenith in 2021 where he completed and graduated from the highly revered Dars e Nizami programme.
Under traditional tutelage, Shaykh Sohail has completed all aspects of the highly revered ‘Dars-i-Nizami’ curriculum.
Shaykh Sohail currently works as a compliance consultant in the financial crime sector, whilst continuing to study more advanced Islamic sciences, as well as teaching students of knowledge and seekers of guidance throughout the week.
